I will give these light bulbs a 5 star rating since 24 out of 25 worked upon testing. One was broken during shipping, but that's O.K. I have ordered these lights from other companies before and sometimes there have been 4 or 5 in a box that would not work or lit for about 3 seconds. I have come to expect that with these twinkling light bulbs over the years. The extra little blinking device inside the bulb sometimes does not work from the start or very long after the bulb is lit, but most of them last a very long time for me. I always liked these lights ever since I was a kid, and their blinking action is just as good for me as the very expensive lights and controllers of today. I use these outdoors with regular incandescent miniature lights which creates a beautiful effect. If you are like me and cannot afford or don't want the spend a fortune on smart lights or things like that, this is the way to go for simplicity. One thing I will say is that the boxes used to pack these are becoming cheaper as time goes by. But what isn't getting cheaper quality as time goes by? I will surely buy more of these as needed as I use them year round for different holidays.These random twinkling bulbs are awesome! They are the type we had for Christmas when I was a child. I hope I can find these to purchase forever because they do burn out and or accidentally break sometimes.These C-7 Twinkle Bulbs are almost impossible to find in stores anywhere. My tree was getting fewer on it every year. So I turned to Amazon & found these under a Extremely good company Novelty Lights. I have bought from this company & trust that I would not fail with them. The lights are excellent & work properly. I've had them on my tree now since Thankgiving Day. I'm now ready to take the tree done & all the Twinkles are working 100 %. Novelty gets 5+ stars, But The reason for the 1 star missing is that the New Blue Twinkles are almost white. The cheap Chinese dye used was not blue any more. The Green was starting to fade as well. I believe by next New Year there won't be any Blue at all. This is the same problem I had with the C-9's I bought from Home Depo for outside lights. Bad Blue dye that fades to white. Novelty needs to do some quality control with their buyers. Hope it improves for next years orders.We have always used c7 bulbs on our indoor Christmas tree. For the past 5 or so years, we haven't been able to buy twinkling bulbs at our local stores. Excited to find these on Amazon, and the price was reasonable. Bulbs came well packed and none were broken. About 5 were dead out of the box, which is more than I would have expected. Flashing rate is variable, which I like. Some are on for a second, and others for up to 10 seconds. Colors are nice and look good on the tree.As almost the last reasonable source for these c7 twinkle incandescents, I tend to buy more than I need and will continue to do so.-> MY ONE COMPLAINT is that the colors fade way too rapidly.<-I use these on a very large Christmas wreath and there is simply no placement for “the look” that these provide. The wreath is lit only for 6 hours per night. The wreath faces East, so it only gets the morning sun. Sadly, I have to replace the BLUE lamps every year because of the color fade, they go almost transparent. Most lamps get replaced after 2 years because of varying levels of fade and/or malfunction (the bi-metal twinkle switch gets stuck and will not release, or the filament burns out).But...I...keep...buying...I have gotten bulbs from this company a few times over the years and have always been pleased with their products. Well made and lasting. I especially like that the blink rates vary!Product perfect for my needs. Purchased 2 boxes of 25 as I needed 40 plus a few spares. At least 4 of the bulbs did not blink after a warmup. Also, a few had glass bulbs somewhat out of shape that would not screw in the socket far enough to make contact. So, I am satisfied and expected a few bad bulbs from reading reviews but not this many. If the seller sent me a few new bulbs I'd change the rating to 5 stars.We have old sets of twinkle lights and the replacement bulbs are hard to find locally. I am delighted with this box of lights and they arrived very quickly.9 out of the 25 bulbs defective. No response to emails for refund, so I had to file a claim with Amazon.Probleme;elles flashent
