*Just an additional note:I bought a second set just a couple weeks ago and the price jumped $10 since then. That's too much for me to not consider alternate possibilities that might come with things like detachable power cords, hanging clips, and protective end caps.Anyway, one set *can* be plugged into another, BUT the long cord has to be dealt with since the power cord is not detachable. ALSO, since there was no end cap provided, it's best to find some way to keep the weather out if you don't have one on hand.The rest of my review still is applicable.-----------------So far, these seem perfect to me. ((If they don't last, I'll amend my review to note that.))Yes, there are rope lights that have more closely-spaced LEDs and that are brighter; and yes, there are lights that have remotes and more "effects".I personally do not need or want ANY of that.I wanted, and received, some gentle lighting to provide a bit of illumination to my dark back yard.Also, these are a standard size, so I was able to use the power cord from some older lights ((that I can't use because they *are* way too bright)) to extend the reach of the power cord for these lights.There were no clips/hangers in the package, but that's fine for me because I use either stainless-steel lock-wire, or durable paracord, to hang things from the fence, since we just got the new one this past year and I do not want to drill holes into it. So I'm happy to NOT pay extra for things I don't need.I'm also more than happy to NOT have to keep track of **another** remote!!! I use a dusk-to-dawn photocell timer, and just pressed the button on the transformer to get to the "constant on" setting, and let the timer do the rest.
