We go through lots of candles in our house. This pack of 50 citronella candles should last us for few months. We like spending evenings on our deck but sometimes bugs and mosquitoes make it difficult to sit outdoors. My daughter is allergic to big bites so we always keep candles and bug sprays.These candles have citronella oil that helps keep bugs away. They burn for about 3-4 hours and have a mild pleasing scent. These do not completely block bugs and mosquitoes but lessen the number. So I would still use bug spray along with these candles.Used these for floating centerpieces for a birthday party. They look really good and went perfect for a backyard party.These little tea lights are STRONG in the citronella department! When they arrived on a hot day, I could smell them through several layers of packaging and the box. You could visibly see the oil sweating out of the candles (tried to show it in the photo).The mosquitos in West Texas have suddenly gone crazy, and these do cut back the number of bites I get sitting on the patio. They don't last super long, but that's just about any tea light for ya. Overall happy with them for the potency, quantity and price.I do a lot of camping, and also have an outdoor patio space at my home. Both situations can really be troublesome with mosquitoes and other biting insects.These small sized, citronella candles are a convenient and affordable way to ward off these pests whether I'm camping on a beach or grilling out at my home.They can be a bit challenging to light on some of them, and I'm not getting a super long burn time but it comes with 50 candles so its nice to leave some in my various camp bags and around my home.I lite a few of these so far and I can tell you they are definitely either a heavy lemon or citranal scent. As for warding off pesky insects I did see s drop in the amount of mosquitoes around me.I had 3 outside while working on my truck and the mosquitoes still came around but not as bad as before the candles.Even without being used for pest repellents, they do smell good as well.These little candles are the perfect way to keep the pesky bugs away while out on the patio. I place one of these in a tealight holder and light it on a table right next to my chair, and the scent quickly produces a little "bubble" of air where the bugs simply stay away due to the aroma of citronella. I love that scent, but mosquitos hate it!These smell like citronella mixed with lilacs. Hard to describe, definitely traditional citronella scent with a hint of floral. This is a huge bundle of tea lights, one package will last me through the summer. It's nice to put them around outside in glass holders. They add some ambience to your night. They also keep the bugs away, as expected. The wicks burn very well, without incident, and burn all the way to the bottom.I honestly got these candles to use inside just because I like the smell of citronella. I am not sure if they quite smell like citronella candles I have gotten in the past, but they do have a light, pleasant fragrance to them. They are just small tealight candles and will not last long, but if someone is just sitting on the deck a couple of hours or so, they should be perfect for that.I am very sensitive to chemical smells and these were just terrible. They are not 100% natural citronella, which is made with essential oils. Very disappointed. I returned them.
